I have a fair amount of racing under the belt. I am legend in some circles.
Not to polish my own knob let me show you my machines of power.
My first car was a Ford Anglia Station wagon. I do not have lots of memories only that I was pushing it more than driving it.
My first real car was a Alfa Romeo Alfetta.
I'll try find a pic.
Please note the link. My first real car had sidedrafts. I was born with sidedrafts. All my friends had Alfas, JT Juniors, Alfetta GTV's and so on.
And for kicks we were always racing each other. We would go on sunday drives. Like really far out. We'd be cruising at speeds of 200km per hour. So the Alfa with sidedrafts were very good handling cars and had a good top speed for its time. We always knew that when we raced other cars they would beat us on pullaway(because Alfas has a diff and gearbox at the back with prop fixed to the engine) But we passed them on the top.
I made my debut as a street racer with my Afetta. My Alfa days had many days of scratching on the engine and carbs and propshaft. Being my first car bought it for R1000. Blew the head gasket same weekend, so I had a good head start. I was forced to fix my own car due to lack of funds.
Being the way I am I just had to know it all. I just hate it when people speak like they are experts but its all hearsay. So to prevent any confusion for myself I always do lots of research.
The end result is a well researched expert able to assist others with a wealth of experience.
